- Zterm works great with an HST. Here's how:

- The following is for a plain old 300 bps backchannel HST. It will
- work with slight mods for a 14,400 HST, and give correspondingly higher
- speeds.

- Zterm should be set to 19,200 bps, 8N1.

- First, you should have the following DIP switch settings:

- 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10

- and the quad should be UP.

- Your cable should be as follows:

- Mac pin 1 (HSKout) -> pin 4 (RTS)
- pin 2 (HSKin) <- pin 5 (CTS)
- pin 3 (TxD-) -> pin 2 (TxD)
- pin 4 (GND) <-> pin 7 (Signal Gnd)
- pin 5 (RxD-) <- pin 3 (RxD)
- pin 6 (TxD+) -- NONE
- pin 7 (NONE)
- pin 8 (RxD+) <- pin 7 (Gnd)

- Note that the report of 1326 is due to the fact that the file being
- transferred was not compressed with Stuffit. It is, still a
- demonstration that a standard Mac serial port can easily go
- faster than 9600 bps.

- The above setup also works with GEnie, however you have to be careful to slowly
- type in hhh as soon as you make the initial connect...
